Researcher Prakarsa, Dwi Rahayu Ningrum revealed that in the 2015-2018 period it gradually decreased. This was expressed in the discussion on Social Welfare: Appreciating and Testing Poverty Figures.

“The calculation results show that in 2015, the multidimensional poor population reached more than 34 million people (13,53 percent). In 2016, the multidimensional poor fell to 30 million people (12 percent)," he said in Cikini, Central Jakarta, Thursday (11/4/2019).

“In 2017 there was a very significant decline, the multidimensional poor in 2017 reached 24,9 million people (9,56 percent). In 2018, the number of multidimensional poor people fell to 21,5 million people or about 8,17% of the total population of Indonesia," he added.

Responding to this, Spokesperson for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf National Campaign Team (TKN), Tsamara Amany, said that this shows that the Jokowi government has shown progress in poverty alleviation.

According to him, flagship programs such as the Family Hope Program (PKH), the Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS), and the Prosperous Indonesia Card have made real progress.

"Currently we have seen concrete progress from Pak Jokowi, in the future, of course, protection for the poor through comprehensive programs," he said.

He admitted that in the future he will also focus on improving the quality of human resources, one of which is through the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) because higher education is considered to be able to raise the quality standard of human resources to the family's economic standard.

Also the Pre-Employment Card by providing debriefing to prospective workers, to reduce unemployment and make people more productive.

“KIP to KIP college, because a good education can empower the economy. Redesign the curriculum so that SMK children are not underestimated so that there are no more mismatch, "he said.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Prabowo-Sandi National Winning Agency (BPN), Alexander Datuk, revealed that the distribution of social assistance so far is considered to be still not effective enough. The reason, he said, is that there is no real data on poverty reduction, which is still in the form of survey data.

“This is quite sophisticated, my e-KTP already exists chip , where it contains data. We can find out how old he is and where he lives. So if the data can be more real, the distribution of aid is also direct, there is no need for intermediation that imposes costs," he said.

Furthermore, he said, the program offered by Prabowo-Sandi is in accordance with what is crucial in alleviating poverty. Starting from Food Self-Sufficiency to job opportunities.

"The Prabowo-Sandi program in alleviating poverty is appropriate in this forum. We want to be self-sufficient in food, it turns out that point one of poverty alleviation is sufficient for food needs," he said.

Then he said, sufficient clean water needs. From the macro-economy side, his party ensures that it has to grow strong well and can increase income through taxes, so that it has more funds and is channeled efficiently and effectively.

“We also have to build an entrepreneurial-based economy, for example, farmers cannot do business as usual, the state must present innovations in access to capital, market access. If we name it, the name is Ok Ocean. Our economic capacity is the movement of all people, not just the state. Better capacity is needed. More prosperous," he concluded.
