Multidimensional Poverty Profile of DKI Jakarta Province

The percentage of the multidimensionally poor population in DKI Jakarta Province continues to experience a significant decline throughout 2012-2021. The multidimensional poverty rate (AKM) fell from 13,66% in 2012 to 1,80% in 2021. During this period, the biggest decline occurred in 2014-2015, which was 3,07 points. Meanwhile, the smallest decrease occurred in the 2018-2019 period with a decrease of only 0,34%.

The decline also occurred in the intensity of multidimensional poverty. In 2012, the multidimensional poverty intensity was 44,44% and in 2021 it will decrease to 39,94%. The decreasing intensity of multidimensional poverty indicates that the severity of poverty experienced by the poor in DKI Jakarta tends to decrease.

With the MMR value and the intensity of multidimensional poverty continuing to decline, the multidimensional poverty index (IKM) in DKI Jakarta has also recorded a decline. In 2012, IKM DKI Jakarta was at 0,06 points, then decreased in 2021 to 0,01 or decreased by 0,05 points.

The administrative district/city with the highest IKM is the Administrative City of North Jakarta (0,016 points). North Jakarta has 3,89% of the population experiencing multidimensional poverty with a severity level of 41,13%. Administrative districts/cities with the lowest IKM are the Thousand Islands Administrative District and East Jakarta Administrative City (0,003 points). The Thousand Islands has 0,58% of the population experiencing multidimensional poverty with a severity rate of 45,13% and the City Administration of East Jakarta has 0,65% of the population experiencing multidimensional poverty with a severity level of 42%.
