For a decade the multidimensional poverty rate has decreased significantly in 2019 - 2020, namely a decrease from 34,83% in 2019 to 26,22% in 2021, this considerable decrease occurred in rural areas with a decrease of 8,88 points. The smallest decrease occurred in 2015 to 2016 with a decrease of 53,32% in 2015 to 49.46%, in this period the smallest decrease occurred in urban areas with a decrease of around 0,89 points.

In addition to the decreasing number of multidimensional poverty, there was also a decrease in the intensity of multidimensional poverty from 56,57% in 2012 to 43,84% in 2021. This shows that the level of intensity of poverty has decreased which shows that the burden of poverty experienced by the poor in Gorontalo is much better and less than a decade ago.
