Multidimensional Poverty Profile of Central Kalimantan Province
In general, multidimensional poverty in the Province of Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) shows a significant decline in 2012-2021. The multidimensional poverty rate fell from 72,98% in 2012 to 21,48% in 2021. A significant decrease occurred in the rural areas with a decrease from 87,00% in 2012 to 29,95% in 2021. For a decade, multidimensional poverty experienced a significant decline from 2014 to 2015, from 65,51% to 51,83%. The highest decline in multidimensional poverty at the village level also occurred in 2014-2015 with a decrease of up to 14,17 points.
The Province of Central Kalimantan has consistently experienced a decline in the multidimensional poverty rate from 2012 to 2021, but there was an increase that occurred in 2012-2013, from 45,30% to 45,79% in urban areas. In addition to the decreasing number of multidimensional poverty, there was also a decrease in the intensity of multidimensional poverty from 53,02% in 2012 to 42,34% in 2021. The biggest decrease occurred in villages which experienced a decrease from 54,33% to 42,57%. This shows that the level of poverty intensity has decreased, indicating that the burden of poverty experienced by the poor in Central Kalimantan has become much lighter and less than a decade ago.
Multidimensional poverty index which describes the percentage and intensity of multidimensional poverty. IKM in Central Kalimantan has decreased from 0,39 in 2012 to 0,09 in 2021 or decreased by 0,30 points. The biggest decrease occurred in 2014 to 2015, namely a decrease of 0,08 points. In general, over the last 10 years, there has been a decrease in the number of SMEs in Central Kalimantan Province, but when viewed from villages and cities, there has been an increase in the number of multidimensional poverty that has occurred. In urban areas the multidimensional poverty rate has increased in 2012-2013 (from 45,30% to 45,79%) and 2018-2019 (from 19,53% to 19,95%). However, a gradual decline occurred in the percentage and intensity of multidimensional poverty.

Multidimensional Poverty Index of Central Kalimantan Province Based on Regency/City
In general, district/city poverty in Central Kalimantan originates from indicators of decent housing, proper drinking water and sanitation. Apart from these indicators, there are also other indicators that contribute to district/city poverty, such as birth certificates,[1] cooking fuel,[2] and morbidity[3]. The district/city with the highest poverty index is Kapuas district with an IKM of 0,17. As much as 40,97% of the population in Kapuas District experience multidimensional poverty with a severity level of 42,28%. The district/city in Central Kalimantan with the lowest poverty is the city of Palangka Raya with a multidimensional poverty index of 0,01. Only 3,29% of the population in the city of Palangka Raya experience multidimensional poverty with a severity level of 41,12%.
