Multidimensional Poverty Profile of North Maluku Province
In general, multidimensional poverty in North Maluku Province has shown a significant decline in 2012-2021. The multidimensional poverty rate has fallen from 78,67% in 2012 to 45,92% in 2021. A significant decrease has occurred in rural areas with a decrease from 88,92% in 2012 to 55,99% in 2021. For a decade , multidimensional poverty has decreased significantly in 2020 - 2021, namely a decrease from 57,56% in 2020 to 52,18% in 2021. This considerable decrease occurred in rural areas with a decrease from 63,07% in in 2020 to 55,99% in 2021. The smallest decrease occurred in 2015 – 2016 with a decrease from 68,57% in 2015 to 67,22% in 2016. In this period the smallest decrease occurred in rural areas of 79,53, 2015% in 78,94 to 2021% in XNUMX.
In addition to the decreasing number of multidimensional poverty, there was also a decrease in the intensity of multidimensional poverty from 54,74% in 2012 to 44,79% in 2021. The largest decline occurred in rural areas, which experienced a decrease from 56,25% to 45,34%. This shows that the level of intensity of poverty has decreased which shows that the burden of poverty experienced by the poor in North Maluku is much better and less than a decade ago.
The multidimensional poverty index which describes the percentage and intensity of multidimensional poverty in Maluku has decreased from 0,43 in 2012 to 0,21 in 2021 or decreased by 0,22 points. The biggest declines occurred in 2012-2013, 2014-2015 and 2019-2020, all three of which experienced a decrease of 0,4 points each. Meanwhile, the smallest decrease occurred in 2017-2018 by 0,1 point. In general, over the past decade, there has been a significant decline in SMEs in North Maluku Province and this has been followed by a gradual decline in the percentage and intensity of multidimensional poverty.

Multidimensional Poverty Index of North Maluku Province Based on Regency/City
In general, poverty in districts/cities in North Maluku originates from indicators of cooking fuel, decent housing, and the internet. Apart from these indicators, there are also other indicators that contribute to district/city poverty, such as morbidity, under-five nutrition and proper drinking water. The regency/city with the highest poverty index in 2021 is Pulau Taliabu Regency with an MPI of 0,325. This district has 67,27% of the population experiencing multidimensional poverty with a severity level of 48,30%. Meanwhile, the district/city with the lowest poverty in 2021 is the City of Ternate with a multidimensional poverty index of 0,053. Ternate City has 13,76% of the population experiencing multidimensional poverty with a severity level of 38,74%.
