Profile of Multidimensional Poverty in Central Sulawesi Province
In general, multidimensional poverty in Central Sulawesi Province (Central Sulawesi) showed a significant decline in 2012-2021. The multidimensional poverty rate fell from 78,28% in 2012 to 30,01% in 2021 or decreased by more than 48,27%. A significant decrease occurred in rural areas from 87,67% in 2012 to 36,34% in 2021. Over the past 10 years multidimensional poverty has decreased quite a bit in 2016-2017, namely 51,64% (2016) to 48,23 % (2017). The highest decline in multidimensional poverty at the village level occurred in 2020 (46,59%) to –2021 (36,34%).
Central Sulawesi Province has consistently experienced a decline in the multidimensional poverty rate from 2012 to 2021, but there has been an increase in urban areas from 22,93% (2017) to 23,78% (2018). In addition to the decreasing number of multidimensional poverty, there was also a decrease in the intensity of multidimensional poverty from 55,84% in 2012 to 46,81% in 2021. The biggest decrease occurred in rural areas, which experienced a decrease from 57,14% (2012) to 47,07 % (2021) This shows that the intensity level of poverty has decreased which shows that the burden of poverty experienced by the poor in Central Sulawesi has become much lighter and less than in the last decade.
Multidimensional poverty index which describes the percentage and intensity of multidimensional poverty. IKM in Central Sulawesi has decreased from 0,44 in 2012 to 0,14 in 2021 or decreased by 0,19 points. The biggest decline occurred in 2019-2020 by 0,04 points. However, a gradual decline occurred in the percentage and intensity of multidimensional poverty.

Multidimensional Poverty Index of Central Sulawesi Province Based on Regency/City
In general, district/city poverty in Central Sulawesi comes from indicators of decent housing, cooking fuel and sanitation. Apart from these indicators, there are also other indicators that contribute to district/city poverty, such as morbidity, [1] proper drinking water, [2] and toddler nutrition [3]. The district/city with the highest poverty index is Banggai Islands Regency with an IKM of 0,21. As much as 47,28% of the population in Banggai Islands Regency experience multidimensional poverty with a severity level of 46,04%. The district/city in Central Sulawesi with the lowest poverty is the city of Palu with a multidimensional poverty index of 0,033. Only 7,88% of the population in Palu City experience multidimensional poverty with a severity level of 41,80%.
