Multidimensional Poverty Profile of South Sumatra Province
In general, multidimensional poverty in South Sumatra Province shows a significant decline in 2012-2022. The multidimensional poverty rate fell from 58,02% in 2012 to 19,60% in 2021. A significant decrease occurred in rural areas from 72,54% in 2012 to 26,50% in 2021.
For a decade, multidimensional poverty has decreased significantly from 2014 to 2015 from 49,32% to 40,50%. This significant decrease also occurred in rural areas from 63,00% in 2014 to 51,56% in 2021. Meanwhile, the lowest decrease occurred in 2015 of 51,56% to 49,44% in 2016. However, the AKM South Sumatra also experienced an increase in the 2018-2019 period from 31,27% to 33,83%.
The multidimensional poverty index, which describes the percentage and intensity of multidimensional poverty, has also decreased. IKM in South Sumatra has decreased from 0,30 in 2012 to 0,08 in 2021 or decreased by 0,22 points. The biggest decrease occurred in 2014 to 2015, namely a decrease of 0,05 points, the lowest decrease occurred in 2015-2016 with a decrease of 0,01 points.
