This report is the result of the latest research by The PRAKARSA as the coordinator of the ResponsiBank Indonesia Coalition regarding banking performance in implementing sustainable finance in Indonesia. This report was prepared under the encouragement and commitment of the coalition to continue to contribute to sustainable development, especially sustainable finance. This report does not only want to invite readers to find out about the progress of the financial services sector in its policies related to Environment, Social and Governance (LST), but also to provide critical notes on policies that need to be improved.
This report was prepared to assess policies from various aspects according to international financial guidelines/methodologies developed by the Fair Finance Guide International (FFGI). This assessment was conducted at 11 banks in Indonesia, which represent the largest group of commercial/commercial banks in Indonesia both in terms of total assets and core capital. The 11 banks are Bank BNI, BRI, Mandiri, BCA, CIMB Niaga, Danamon, Maybank, BJB, Permata Bank, DBS and HSB.
It is hoped that this report will become one of the pieces of evidence that can be used as a reference for policy makers, banks, CSOs and academics, as well as being the latest source of information on the progress of sustainable finance, especially from the banking side in Indonesia.
