Theconversation.com – Who would have thought, Indonesia would actually become ranked 9th in the world as a dream destination to spend old age. In the report, the archipelago attracts retirees from all over the world to be a final resting place because of its cheap prices, natural beauty, and culture.
This trend has actually been felt since 2015. At that time, one of the world's tourism destinations, Bali, was invaded by... foreign seniors to settle. The Indonesian government also welcomed this interest by issuing a special visa policy called second home.
Unfortunately, this dream cannot be felt by the local residents themselves. Around 30 million elderly people existing and prospective retirees are threatened with not being able to enjoy their old age until the end of their lives due to the lack of a social safety net system for old age.

The discussion was also attended by the Ministry of Finance, the National Social Security Council, the Indonesia Financial Group, as well as stakeholders and the general public.
From the discussion we found some current conditions regarding national pension insurance. We hope that these findings can be used as a reference for the new Prabowo-Gibran cabinet government in creating policies so that the Indonesian people can enjoy their old age in peace and tranquility.
