JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Executive Director of The Prakarsa, Ah Maftuchan, assessed that the promise of the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of Jakarta number 1, Ridwan Kamil and Suswono to create 1 million jobs is ambitious.
"One million jobs for DKI residents is very ambitious in my opinion. Moreover, 600.000 (jobs) come from the formal sector," said Maftuchan in the Obrolan Newsroom broadcast on Youtube Kompas.com, Sunday (27/10/2024).
Maftuchan said that in last night's debate, the public had not received an explanation regarding how the pair with the acronym RIDO would create the 1 million jobs in question.
In the second debate of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada, Ridwan Kamil explained that 1 million jobs will be divided into several sectors, namely 600.00 from the formal sector, 300.000 from the informal sector and MSMEs and 100.000 from the labor-intensive sector.
According to Maftuchan, the sector that is easiest to realize is the labor-intensive sector because it is closely related to the provincial government.
"Just create programs that allow community involvement to work on bridges, clean gutters, add more orange troops, add more of these troops, that will definitely be achieved," he continued.
Meanwhile, other sectors, especially the formal sector, will be very difficult to do because they are closely related to private companies.
"But if this is 600.000 in the formal sector. That is very dependent on the private sector. This is what we have not received (an explanation). But in general, 1 million jobs (new in Jakarta) is very ambitious," said Maftuchan.
