PB 27 – Prosperous in Old Age: Aspirations for Employment Social Security Contribution Assistance

In 2045, Indonesia will be 100 years old at which time a double demographic bonus will occur. The total population aged 65 years and over is projected to number 63 million people (20% of the total population) in 2045. The condition of the elderly group at that time certainly depended heavily on the current condition of the younger generation.

The young generation currently lives in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 where new opportunities and challenges emerge and demand increased skilled human resources. The younger generation has various challenges and has not been prepared for their old age. If this condition is not immediately addressed, it will lead Indonesia to be burdened by the poor elderly in the future. Then, are the current policies able to anticipate these conditions?
