PB 28 – Governance of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Substantive Democracy in Indonesia

The formation of a Civil Society Organization (CSO) is a form of community participation in an effort to improve the standard of living and welfare of the community which the government cannot afford.

In Indonesia, the role of CSOs to implement democratic values ​​in the development process is very much needed. This is because democracy in the CSO Governance Index in Indonesia is still considered procedural.

So, how is the CSO governance currently happening in several parts of Indonesia? Then is it true that the existence of CSOs has been proven to contribute to substantive democracy amidst the many obstacles to the sustainability of CSOs in Indonesia today?
