DISCUSSION FORUM STRENGTHENING COLLABORATION OF GOVERNMENT AND CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS (CSOs)

The PRAKARSA and the National Social Security Council (DJSN) organize discussion and coordination forums between DJSN and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to discuss social protection and social security reform in Indonesia. This forum was held from 12-14 December at Courtyard by Marriot, Nusa Dua, Bali. The initiative for this meeting was initiated by The Prakarsa and DJSN by inviting representatives of various CSOs that focus on social protection advocacy such as BPJS watch, INFID, KPRI, Perkumpulan Inisiatif, FITRA, ICW, IndoBIG Network, YAPIKA, KOTA KITA, . The forum was also attended by academics from PKJS UI and PKMK UGM. Also attended by Pramudya Iriawan Buntoro, Director of Strategic Planning and Information Technology BP Jamsostek BPJAMSOSTEK and Benjamin Simanjuntak, Deputy Director of Health. 

Ah Maftuchan, Director Prakarsa emphasizing the importance of multi-pillar collaboration, community participation and recognition of all parties is an important foundation in various lines of life in the current era. Strengthening the collaboration of all stakeholders can lead to improvement steps and everyone's ownership of social security.  

Pramudya Iriawan Buntoro, Director of Strategic Planning and Information Technology of BP Jamsostek BPJAMSOSTEK also hopes that the discussion from the experts who are members of the CSO forum is expected to be able to build a much better social security policy. 

Indra Budi Sumantoro, Member of DJSN RI also hopes that the CSO forum can strengthen the implementation of the National Social Security System, especially the institutional strengthening of the DJSN so that it becomes more optimal. 

Benjamin Simanjuntak, Deputy Director of Health stated that so far CSOs have played a very important role because they have produced many studies and policy recommendations. It is hoped that in the future there will be more studies that can be continued as policy recommendations. The CSO Forum is expected to increase the collaboration of studies/research related to the actual conditions faced, especially in the field of changes in the direction of social security implementation.   

This meeting resulted in a joint commitment between DJSN, BPJS Health, BPJS Employment, and the CSO forum to collaborate to oversee social security so that it can be applied universally and as mandated by the Constitution.
