STRENGTHENING THE CAPACITY OF DEVELOPMENT ACTORS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RAD SDGS OBJECTIVE NO. 1, 5 AND 8

Association PRAKARSA held a training with the theme "Strengthening the Capacity of Development Actors in the Preparation of RAD SDGs Goals 1, 5 and 8: Zero Poverty, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth" in the city of Kupang on 20-21 May 2019. This training is aimed at representatives of the District government Kupang, South Central Timor, and North Central East. This training presented four speakers namely Cut Nurul Aidha (Research and Knowledge Manager of the Association PRAKARSA), Setyo Budiantoro (Development Economic Pillar Manager, Bappenas SDGs Secretariat), Djonet Santoso (Director of the Bengkulu University SDGs Center) and Marvel Ledo (Provincial Advisor to Support the 2030 National Road Map and Regional Action Plans in Planning and Monitoring SDGs NTT province). 

There are three objectives of this training event, namely: (1) increasing the capacity of development actors at the local level related to sustainable development goals, especially goals 1, 5, and 8, (2) mapping the position and potential of the provincial government of NTT, Kupang, TTS and TTU districts. in an effort to achieve the goals of sustainable development, and (3) encourage provincial and district governments to synergize with civil society organizations and community actors in accelerating the preparation of the RAD. The two-day training was opened by Mr. Donald Isaac, one of the RAD SDGs drafting teams from Bappelitbangda NTT Province. He emphasized the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in efforts to achieve SDGs, especially goals 1, 5 and 8. In addition, in planning and implementing the development agenda, the NTT Provincial Bappelitbangda no longer uses a sectoral approach but uses a Holistic, Integrated, Thematic and Spatial (HITS) approach.
