Post-election post-election political account cease-fire discourse

The 2019 presidential election is over. The General Election Commission (KPU) will appoint the Joko Widodo-KH Ma'ruf Amin pair as the elected president and vice president for the 2019-2024 period on Sunday, (30/6) the day after tomorrow. This follows after the Constitutional Court (MK) in a decision read out on Thursday (27/6) night, rejected all the arguments for the petition submitted by the Prabowo Subiato-Sandiaga Uno pair.

In response to the decision, both Jokowi and Prabowo have both agreed to respect the Constitutional Court's decision. Both stated that the decision was final.

"We obey and follow the path of the constitution, namely the 1945 Constitution and the applicable law system. So, we hereby state that we respect the results of the Constitutional Court's decision," Prabowo said at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, Thursday (27/6) night.

At almost the same time, Jokowi invited the Indonesian people to unite again and build Indonesia together. "There are no more 02 and 01, there is only the unity of Indonesia," said Jokowi while giving a speech before leaving for Japan to attend a meeting of G20 countries.

Although these two competitors have mutually accepted, the atmosphere of the war of opinion on social media timelines still continues, although the volume is not too high.

Social media analyst, Ismail Fahmi via his twitter account on Thursday (27/6), took a close look at the discourse on restrictions during the Constitutional Court ruling. According to him, the public's attention to the trial of the Constitutional Court's decision was not as busy as the previous trial.

"There is no need to restrict access to social media during the announcement of the Constitutional Court's decision. Public attention is not as high as the Constitutional Court trial. Meanwhile Korean artist news invaded our top trending topic," wrote his account.

The founder of Drone Emprit noted that the increase in the volume of conversation about the Constitutional Court's decision was dominated by cluster 2 (Prabowo supporters), who expect the Constitutional Court to be fair in its decisions. In addition, there is another hashtag that invites to be ready to accept every decision of the Constitutional Court.

“In general, the social media situation seems safe and conducive. Public attention is not as high as before during the Constitutional Court trial. It's as if they already know the results of the Constitutional Court's decision, not much has changed from the KPU results," said Fahmi.

Reconciliation of Netizens After the Presidential Election

During the campaign period, especially the last 10 months, the battle of opinions coupled with raising hashtags has become a dish every time. The two supporters of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates have even made a 'twitwar' long before they declared and registered themselves with the General Election Commission as 2019 presidential candidates.

There are allegations that the battle that takes place on social media timelines will never stop, even after the presidential election has ended. Two cluster who have been fighting with each other, it is considered that they will continue to play the narrative according to their interests in order to maintain the militancy of their supporters so that they can be used at any time in the celebration of elections.

Executive director of the Association Prakarsa, who is also a public policy observer, Ah Maftuchan, assessed that after the Constitutional Court's decision which was final and binding, the opinions played by netizens should lead to public participation in development activities.

"Future tweets must be in the context of development participation, not in the context of electoral political contestation," said Maftuch in Jakarta, Friday (28/6).

Maftuch urges that the discourse of reconciling social media users who have been fighting online for a long time because of differences in political choices is immediately realized. He hopes that there will be a shift from critical-destructive to critical-constructive discourse.

"All citizens, both 01 and 02, must actively participate in development activities," he said.

The same support was expressed by the Chairman of the Nahdaltul Ulama Executive Board, Robikin Emhas. According to him, unity, social unity and harmony are part of Islamic teachings. Even Islam encourages the ability to cooperate not only with homogeneous groups, but plural.

"What for? To increase human dignity and realize common prosperity. So that the community mutamaddin can be realized," he said.

For this reason, he supports that reconciliation after the division of society due to the presidential election continues to be carried out for all groups, including netizens. (Zunus Muhammad)
